Working from home has one benefit no office can match: the lack of the time and expense of a commute. A survey from Hubble HQ even found that there’s a direct correlation between employees’ commute time and their enjoyment of working from home. Besides freeing up time on peoples’ schedules, the thought of long commutes to crowded offices located in densely populated cities seems to many like an outdated custom of the past.

At the same time, only 28% of employees would like to commit to a fully remote arrangement in the future. The majority of people would prefer returning to an office at least part of the time to benefit from collaboration and in-person meetings while avoiding long commutes and overly crowded offices.

Offering employees the option of regional, decentralized office hubs promises a solution offering the best of both worlds. Instead of having a single headquarters, companies might consider a decentralized office strategy when returning to the workplace.
