Construction continues on Vista Canyon’s recycled water facility and progress is becoming more visible each day. The only water plant in California being privately built and funded on-site to serve a new community as well as existing neighborhoods that surround it, the facility will ultimately make more water available each year than Vista Canyon will actually utilize. Going above State mandates pertaining to water supply for new development, JSB Development, the Santa Clarita-based planners and developers of Vista Canyon, chose to pursue net-zero water consumption and the long-term sustainability benefits inherent in the selected development process.

Once construction is complete, the facility – which will be part of Castaic Lake Water Agency’s comprehensive recycled water system – will be turned over to the City of Santa Clarita for operation. The plant will sustainably meet all of Vista Canyon’s non-potable water demands such as irrigation and landscaping with service eventually extending to surrounding areas of Santa Clarita.
