A FOUNDATION FOR SMART, SUSTAINABLE WATER USE
Posted on 11/7/2016

With construction expected to break ground by the end of 2016, the first building to lead off “vertical construction” in Vista Canyon will be a showcase of the community’s “Smart from the Start,” sustainability-focused design plan. Vista Canyon is one of the first new planned communities in Los Angeles County to have a water recycling plant built on-site to meet all of the community’s non-potable water demands. Incorporating the latest in water-wise technologies, the facility will bring a capacity to ultimately produce close to 400,000 gallons of recycled water a day, ensuring sustainable water availability for landscaping, irrigation, and other non-potable water uses throughout the community – and eventually to other parts of Santa Clarita through CLWA’s recycled water system. As a result of the plant, the project will “make” more water available on an annual basis than it uses overall.
